Day 1: Vientiane arrival
Up on arrival Vientiane Capital
Wattay International Airport in Vientiane, the city of the
moon - an ancient city, situated on the bend on the left
bank of the Mekong River as the largest city and the capital
of Laos, you値l be met and driven to check-in your hotel. In
the afternoon, you値l have sightseeing tour of Vientiane.
You値l visit a religious museums of Wat Sisaket, the
oldest temple to have been survived from the Siamese war of
1828 and its cloister contains more than 8000 Buddha
statues; Wat Ho Prakeo, the former home-temple of the
Emerald Buddha statue or Pra Keo, but today it
contains a collection of Buddha statues, antiques and all
artifacts found in around Vientiane; That Luang Stupa,
Symbol of Lao nation the single most important monument in
Laos which was built to cover the original small stupa
containing a piece of the chest bone of Buddha; Patouxay
(Arch de Triumph), built quite recently in commemoration of
those who died during the wars in the past and it is today
as the land-mark of Vientiane. You値l next visit the
National Museum (Revolutionary Museum) where varied
antique items and legend of Laos痴 history fighters and
leaders displace from the ancient times to new revolution
period You値l spend the night in Vientiane.
Day 2: Vientiane/Luang
Prabang (B)
After breakfast at your hotel,
you値l drive to visit the Central Market call
'Morning Market' where you can find the antique items for
collection, well handmade textile and gift away items. Later
on, you値l drive to the airport to board a short flight to
Luang Prabang, which is perhaps the best - preserved
traditional city in Southeast Asia. UNESCO registered 1995
as World Cultural Heritage City. The tranquility and charm
of this town with its splendid natural scenery and cultural
sights make it one of the most delightful places to visit in
Asia. On arrival, you値l be transferred to hotel. After a
short rest you値l visit Wat Mai, Wat Sene
then climb up to the top of Phousi Mount for an
enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as
viewing a beautiful panorama sunset over this once royal
ancient city and the Mekong River., we are strolling around
to see the Street Night Bazaar, where you can find
the lovely collection and handmade textile by local and hill
tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang. Your overnight stay
will be in Luang Prabang.
Day 3: Luang Prabang/Pak Ou
Cave (B)
Breakfast at your hotel, you値l
be taken to a short-guided tour seeing the city's oldest
temple of impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the
shrine of Wat Aham, and the magnificent Wat
Xiengthong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground,
which represent the classical architecture of Luang Prabang
temple. You値l then board a boat embarking upstream on the
Mekong River, which also gives us a beautiful view of the
tranquil countryside as well as an interesting visit to the
mysterious of Pak Ou Caves, crammed with thousands of
gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes.
Along the way, you値l stop at the village of Ban Xanghai,
where they make the local rice wine. And take a short drive
to Ban Phanom, well known for its hand weaving with
natural dyes. You値l return to the city by late evening for
observing the sunset at Wat Siphouthabath. Your
overnight stay will be in Luang Prabang.
Day 4: Luang Prabang/Kuangsi
Waterfall (B)
This morning you may want to
wake up early and participate in the daily early morning
ritual of saffron-clad monks with their black Alms-giving
bowls being given offerings from the local people, including
the ubiquitous sticky rice. After breakfast, you then visit
The National Museum at the former Royal Palace, which
displays a lovely collection of the artifacts reflecting the
richness of Lao culture dating from the days of the early
kings right through the last sovereign visit the morning
Phousi Market where you will see such diverse offerings
as dried buffalo skin, local tea and saltpeter among the
chickens, vegetables and hill-tribe weavings. Laos is also
known for its traditional crafts, and today you will visit
local village of Lao ethnic Ban Thapene, a Khmu
Village, then drive to the beautiful Kuangsi Waterfall
where you can splash around in the pools or walk along the
forest paths. In the afternoon, you値l return to Luang
Prabang to spend the night.
Day 5: Luang Prabang/Pakse/Tadfane
Waterfall (B)
After breakfast, relax on their
own activities till transfer to Luang Prabang airport for
the flight QV 513 LPQ PKZ 11h20-12h50 to Pakse, the
province which is best-known for coffee and lands, apart
from the famous historic war. Arrive in Pakse airport,
you値l be met local guide and take a short drive to Pakse
city for lunch at local restaurant. You値l then drive up to
Bo oven plateau for visit Tadfane waterfalls,
locating in Dong Huasao national park, is the highest
waterfalls in Bo oven plateau. On the way, you値l visit
coffee and tea plantations. You値l spend the night at
Tadfane resort.
Day 6: Tadfane/Wat Phou/Khong
Island (B)
After breakfast, you値l take a
drive to Champasak for visit Wat Phou. En-route,
you値l stop to visit Ban Houei Houne, a village of
ethnic minority of Katou. You will learn more about
traditional way of rural life with their fascinating culture
of people there. There are lots of nice views of villages
with tea and coffee plantations along the road side. Later
on, you値l drive to the boat landing, and take a drive
downstream along the Mekong river, through beautiful scenery
with mountains range and also local villages along the
Mekong valleys to Champasack, the nearest town to the
fantastic archaeological sight of Wat Phou. You値l continue
by car about 2hrs drive to get to Khong Island, the
4.000 Islands, where the Mekong reaches up to 14km wide
during the rainy season. Don Khong is the largest of
the Mekong Islands at 16 km long and 8 km wide and its
capital is Muang Khong, a small former French settlement.
You can take a small ferry boat to cross to Khong Island and
check-in at hotel. Your overnight stay will be in Khong
Island.
Day 7: Khong Island/Lipi/Phone
Phapheng/Pakse (B)
After breakfast, you take a
small ferry boat to cross to Khong Island then we take a
boat to visit Don Det & Don Khone Island (The nicest
Island) then visit Lipi waterfall and the fisherman
village of Ban Khone. Your lunch will be served at
local restaurant in Dondet. When you return to Pakse, you値l
take a short drive to the Lao - Cambodia border at
Weukham for the sight of Khone Phapheng Waterfall,
which both South East Asia痴 biggest water falls. Your
overnight stay will be in Pakse.
Day 8: Pakse/Vientiane
departure (B)
In the early morning, you値l
transfer to domestic airport to board a flight to Vientiane
then connect for your departure flight.
