Much of the Central Highlands is a collection of flat plateaux, mainly inhabited by varied ethnic groups. Aside from Dalat, the tourist guide books are somewhat dismissive of the area. Many remarking a position sights and attractions aren't even talked about; probably as a result of they're too far off the regular tourist routes.  

At present, it is a blessing for Gia Linh Travel travelers because it gives an opportunity to go to one of Vietnam’s most fascinating areas without bumping into groups of tourists. Nevertheless, the Ho Chi Minh High approach, a brand new north-south scenic route, is due for completion in 2005, and will make the area more accessible. 

Usually referred to as Trung Nguyen (the Central Highlands), the area is home to a large variety of ethnic minority communities principally living around a series of small cities strung at long intervals on a highway from Dalat to Danang. The climate and topography of the area implies that they have advanced totally different cultures to those of their northern counterparts. 

Different communities reside additional north, but the mountains there are far less accessible. 

The three primary highland cities, Buon Ma Thuot, Pleiku and Kon Tum are bisected by the one highway that runs the size of the plateaux area. They have a number of interesting features; however the principle attractions lie outside within the surroundings, wildlife and ethnic diversity. All three are related to occasions occurring through the American War. 

Among the surroundings is stunning. Forests, waterfalls, lakes and rivers are accessible for climbing and trekking, and there are loads to see. To the south, Nam Cat Tien National Park is likely one of the most biologically diverse places in Indochina. 

Tourism infrastructure within the area could be very limited. Each Buon Ma Thuot and Pleiku has small local airports with regular flights connecting with Ho Chi Minh Metropolis and Danang. 

The only international hotels are in Dalat - the remaining is what we regard as ‘local’ standard. Nevertheless, a number of supply comfortable accommodation and acceptable service.  

Extra attractive to many of our prospective customers are the possibilities for homestays accommodation and opportunities to get near the communities in the area. In general, the folks you encounter shall be very friendly. They've a gentle, relaxed lifestyle, and are remarkably welcoming and hospitable regardless of the poverty in the area. A singular function is the lack of beggars and the gangs of children who usually materialize as soon as you seem anyplace else in Vietnam.
